In October 1999, I purchased a ruin with surrounding land of 1.3 hectares in a sleepy Provençal village called Lachau. The location perfectly met my expectations: lots of options for exciting day trips, sights and active excursions, and then coming home to peace and quiet surrounded by beautiful nature.
After my retirement in 2003, I decided to completely rebuild the ruin. The house itself was designed so that I could easily accommodate my friends for longer periods of time. At that time, I was still single, after my first wife had passed away years earlier. Not long after, I met my current wife.
As she also has a house in France, we have been enjoying both homes for almost twenty years. In the meantime, we have both passed the age of 75, which is why I decided to sell my house in Lachau. While waiting for the sale, my daughter Eva and her boyfriend are running the B&B. And with considerable success, I must say! I hope that someone will enjoy this idyllic place as much as we have – whether it is to continue running the B&B or to enjoy it themselves.
